I’m excited, proud, and deeply honored to share that I was invited to collaborate with Studio 23 for the 3rd Annual Art of the African Diaspora Satellite Exhibition. This opportunity feels like a natural extension of the work I love most: uplifting personal history, celebrating cultural memory, and creating space for artists to tell their stories in their own words.
As part of this year’s exhibition, I’m hosting prerecorded video interviews with all eight featured artists, which will be shared throughout the show. These conversations explore their heritage, creative process, and the visions that guide their work. Each interview is a reminder of how powerful it is when artists are given room to speak about the traditions, experiences, and communities that shape their craft.
This collaboration reflects the heart of Tradition Café—a commitment to honoring personal history and preserving culture through conversation. The show’s guiding idea, Many Voices, One Table, feels especially alive in this project. Bringing together artists, curators, and community members in one shared creative space is exactly the kind of work that inspires me.
I’m grateful to be in community with the incredible teams at Art of the African Diaspora, Studio 23, and Resistance Press, and to contribute to an exhibition that continues to uplift Black artists across the Bay Area.
