Some episodes feel extra special because they’re not just about a guest — they’re about a friend. That’s exactly how it feels with Violeta, who I’ve had the joy of working with (and laughing with) for almost ten years.
If you know us, you know two things: we can make each other laugh about pretty much anything, and we’ll never say no to another plant. Add in our love of Latinx music (from classics to whatever new rhythm catches our ear) and our shared mindset about life, and you can imagine how much fun we had recording this episode.
One of my favorite parts of our conversation was hearing Violeta talk about her Mexican and Salvadoran heritage. The pride she carries for both cultures comes through in the way she lives, and the way she honors family and tradition. Listening to her reflect on that reminded me how powerful it is to celebrate where we come from, and how those roots continue to shape us today.
But what I admire most about Violeta is her outlook on what really matters — family, joy, and keeping your priorities in line with your heart. That perspective shows up in the way she talks, the way she works, and the way she lives.
In this episode of Tradition Café, we get into the traditions that have shaped Violeta, the music and moments that keep her grounded, and, of course, a lot of laughter.
I can’t wait for you to meet her—the way I know her!
